What People Ask ChatGPT Before They Hire a Lead Generation Agency
In August 2026 a strange thing started happening. Leads, friends, and one or two people we had never met began sending us screenshots. Each one was a ChatGPT conversation. Each one had the same shape: someone asked for help finding a B2B lead generation or cold outreach agency in India, and Client Magnet was on the shortlist, usually near the top, often with a star next to it.
We did not pay for this and could not have. Nobody controls what ChatGPT recommends. What we can do is read the screenshots carefully, because together they are the most honest piece of market research we have ever been handed: a dozen real buyers, in their own words, asking an assistant with no stake in the answer how to choose. This article is what they asked, what it said, and what you can take from it whether you speak to us or not. If you want the full shortlist as a table, it is in best B2B lead generation agencies in India.
What people asked
The prompts were plainer than any keyword tool would suggest. Nobody typed "B2B lead generation services". They typed things like:
- "Can you help me look for agencies or people to do B2B lead generation and cold outreach in India? I want to partner with them for my services."
- "Give me some Indian company names or individuals who could do this for me."
- "Research 200 to 300 Indian prospects, identify a credible trigger, write genuinely personalised emails, and run the outreach and follow-up. Who does this?"
Notice two things. First, the buyers were in Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Mumbai, and most asked for India as a whole rather than their city, because they had already understood that this work is delivered remotely. Second, the good prompts described a job, not a category. "Find 200 to 300 prospects with a credible trigger and write to each one properly" is a brief. "Lead generation agency" is a directory search. ChatGPT gave far better answers to the brief.
What ChatGPT said about us
Across the screenshots the description of Client Magnet was consistent, which tells us the service page is saying what we meant it to say. In its words, lightly trimmed:
Client Magnet: particularly interesting if you're selling B2B services. They explicitly do the list building, copy, cold-email sending and follow-up, and claim to focus on buying signals rather than bulk email.
They target companies showing a recent buying signal rather than blasting thousands of generic contacts. Their process lets the client see the prospect list before outreach begins.
Their published pricing is ₹75,000 a month for cold email and ₹1.5 lakh a month for cold outreach plus appointment setting, with up to 1,000 contacts a month.
In one conversation it went further: "My first three conversations would be Client Magnet, LeadShuttle and one larger operator such as Denave. That gives you a founder-led specialist, a dedicated outbound provider, and a scaled sales organisation to compare against." That is, as it happens, exactly how we would tell you to shortlist.
What it said about everyone else
It was not a Client Magnet advertisement, and that is what makes it useful. The same answers shortlisted LinkLoom for "personalised LinkedIn and email outreach, and they specifically say they don't purchase databases". They put Banaawat forward because "its model is specifically done-for-you outbound, with payment tied to meetings rather than emails sent". They called Denave "the heavyweight option" and then warned that it "operates at a very different scale" and is "probably overkill unless you want scale". Thyleads and Myntmore were flagged as built for SaaS. Leadle was described as more revenue-operations oriented than a list seller.
Read those descriptions again and you will notice the pattern: every agency that made a shortlist was recommended for what it refused to do. No purchased databases. No payment for emails sent. No ten thousand contacts. The agencies that got a bare one-line entry were the ones whose websites only said "B2B lead generation" and left it there.

The three things it told every buyer to do
The advice ChatGPT gave was better than most of the advice in the industry, so here it is in one place. We agree with all of it, including the parts that make our job harder.
Change the brief. In more than one conversation it stopped the buyer and rewrote their request. "I would not hire a generic lead generation agency. I'd look for an outbound sales development partner." The brief it suggested instead: identify decision-makers in companies that regularly spend on what you sell, build the list, find the actual person, run personalised email and LinkedIn outreach, follow up, qualify interest, and book meetings. "That is a very different job from 'give me 5,000 HR contacts'. The second one is how humans invented Excel sheets full of people nobody wants to talk to."
Run the 25-company test. "Don't ask them, 'How many leads can you give me?' Ask: give me a sample of 25 companies you would target, the exact person you would approach in each, why you chose them, and the first message you would send. Then give the same brief to three agencies. Within 48 hours you'll know who actually understands outbound sales and who has simply learned how to say 'AI-powered omnichannel demand generation' while harvesting LinkedIn." We have adopted this as the way we would like to be evaluated. Send us the brief and we will answer it.
Judge on meetings, not leads. "A lead is an email address. A meeting is at least evidence that another human being agreed to spend 30 minutes with you." Every plan we run is measured that way. If an agency reports opens, clicks and "leads" and cannot tell you how many qualified meetings landed on your calendar, you have learnt what you needed to.
Why this happened, as far as we can tell
We sell AI search optimisation as a service, so we would like to claim credit. The honest answer is simpler. The service page says, in plain English near the top, who we work with, what we do, what it costs, and what we will not do. It has structured data that tells a machine we are a business in India offering these services. There is nothing quotable in "we help businesses grow"; there is a great deal quotable in "₹75,000 a month, 500 contacts, each showing a buying signal from the last thirty days, list shown to you before sending". ChatGPT quoted it because it could.
That is the whole method, and it is available to any services business: state your position, your price and your limits in words a machine can lift and a buyer can believe. If you want to know how your own site reads to ChatGPT and Perplexity, the AI search optimisation page explains what the audit covers.
What to do with this if you are choosing an agency
Use the brief. Run the test. Judge on meetings. Then, if you want, do what several of the people in the screenshots did next: see our plans or send us the brief. We will reply within a business day with the 25 companies, the 25 people, and the first message, and you can compare it against whoever else you asked.

Best B2B Lead Generation Agencies in India (2026): How to Shortlist
A working shortlist of B2B lead generation agencies in India, built the way a founder would build it. What each agency says it does, who it is for, how it charges when that is public, and the one test that separates an outbound partner from a list vendor before you pay anyone.
Client Magnet vs Banaawat: Retainer or Pay Per Meeting?
Banaawat and Client Magnet both run done-for-you cold email in India and both refuse to spray. The real difference is the commercial model: Banaawat charges per meeting booked, Client Magnet charges a monthly plan sized in contacts reached. Here is what that choice means for a services firm.
Client Magnet vs LeadShuttle: Two Ways to Buy Outbound in India
Client Magnet and LeadShuttle are the two names ChatGPT most often puts first for B2B cold outreach in India. One is a Hyderabad multi-channel firm running since 2017; the other is a buying-signal cold email specialist with published prices. Here is how they differ and how to choose.
